Prof. Dr. Rudolf W. Kessler was a Professor of Chemistry at Reutlingen  University, Germany, with a focus on Process Analysis & Technology (PA&T). After his studies in Chemistry and a PhD in Physical Chemistry he worked for some years with Mercedes Benz. His main expertise is process analysis by optical and spectroscopic methods in combination with multivariate data analysis. He was a board member of the process analysis group of the German Chemical Society GDCh and of Dechema for a long time. He was suggested in 2009 for the  “Zukunftspreis” of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany and was the recipient of an award for his excellence in technology transfer in 2014. Since 2018 he is CEO of Kessler ProData GmbH.

Hon.-Prof Waltraud Kessler has a degree in Physics and is honorary professor at Reutlingen University, Germany. Her major subjects are teaching statistics, multivariate data analysis and design of experiments. She is also a delegate of the German BfArM to the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Health Care (EDQM) in the expert group PAT. Since 2018 she is CEO of Kessler ProData GmbH.

Bernd Jähne is Professor of Physics and Computer Science at the Interdisciplinary Center of Scientific Computing (IWR) of Heidelberg University since 1994. From 2008 to 2016 he was deputy managing director of the IWR and from 2008 to 2017 coordinating director of the Heidelberg Collaboratory for Image Processing (HCI) at the IWR, one of the "Industry-on-Campus" projects of Heidelberg University. He retired in October 2018 and was then appointed as a Senior Professor at the HCI. He has 30+ years’ experience in teaching and 20+ years in continuous education, chairing the Heidelberg Image Processing Forum and the EMVA European Machine Vision Forum. He is author of several books and a standard text book on image processing, published in German, English, and Russian Language. He also chairs the EMVA 1288 standardization committee since 2008. Since 2016 he is member of EMVA‘s board of directors.

Georg Waltner received a degree in Telematics from Graz University of Technology. He a researcher at the Institute for Computer Graphics and Vision at Graz University of Technology and pursuing a PhD under supervision of Prof. Horst Bischof. His research interests range from classification of food items, metric learning for image retrieval and object detection in low-power environments to segmentation of multispectral data for waste separation.
